Box 1 contains printed and mimeographed books, booklets, and reports, published by several institutions, and arranged by author and title. They include a series published by the Melanesian Institute, an ecumenical institution. The box also includes issues of "Staff Reporter," a missionary newsletter. Box 2 contains records from KPI. There is an audit, a case study, a catalog, a constitution, and reports, as well as general files. The general files include correspondence and reports and are arranged chronologically. Boxes 3 and 4 contain the New Guinea Lutheran files, which include files of correspondence for 1962-1964. The remaining files are copies of the publications itself, with issues in English, Kate, and Pidgin. They are filed chronologically by language. None of the sets is complete. Box 5 contains several publications of or printed by Kristen Pres, Madang or Luther Press, Madang, Papua New Guinea, plus two additional volumes (8-9) owned by missionary Paul Freyburg. Box 6 contains contain three volumes that comprises the series An Introduction to Melanesian Cultures as part of the Point Series published by The Melanesian Institute and intended for use as basic handbooks for church workers in Melanesia. There is an additional volume from a later Point Series as well as three issues of the biannual magazine Point, published by the Melanesian Institute and two issues of a quarterly magazine published by the institute titled Catalyst.

The American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) was formed by the merger of the American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church. Representatives from each of the constitutent churches formed the Joint Union Committee in 1950 to effect the merger. Presidents of the constituent bodies at the merger were Henry F.
